As the preparations are now coming to a close I will be able to refresh renew and create for the next few days ahead.
The rug hooking sail aboard the J&E Riggin will do just that- refresh and renew. Refresh by spending the days and nights, outside on the sea. Renew, by learning some new techniques from all of the talent that will be aboard the Schooner. Create by gleaning techniques from Susan Feller and the other talented women onboard.
This has been a year of planning by myself and Beth Miller- but it has come together nicely and we are as ready as we will ever be.
Heading down to the cabin
It’s important to step back and look at things from a different point of view. We will be observing our surroundings on the beautiful sailboat and the ocean. Seabirds, seals, sunsets, sunrise, the Schooner itself – a few thunderstorms may happen… but then maybe a rainbow!
watch the J&E Riggin
It will be a time to unplug and that will be a relief for me. I intend to take loads of photos to share with you all. I’ll show you the talented women, the crew, the galley, the food, the things we create.
The bags are “almost” ready. A surprise treat will be in the oven later today. Wish us all the space to let our creativity flow. For those of us who need to be perfect? let that go- try to look at things with fresh eyes and let go of the perfectionism. That has happened for me already- but for some, it will be a challenge. It can be a very hard lesson to learn but freeing once you do.
Check back in for details and maybe consider joining us next time.
