Do you make your own hot chocolate? I mean make the mix and then add it to warmed milk? It’s so comforting after your day outside in the cold- you know, getting your exercise…

I was gifted hot choc mix one year, along with the recipe and I’ve never looked back

here is the recipe.

1 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder ( use organic if possible)

3/4 Cup sugar

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

3/4 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper ( optional but worth it)

3/4 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp salt

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container ( a jar works great)

TO SERVE:

Stir in 1-2 Tbsp mix into 1 cup warmed milk and enjoy

I’ve dyed some wool that sort of reminds me of hot chocolate. I think it would be great for trees or animals too- what do you think?

Remember- now until February 14 you receive a free mini rug pattern with any purchase from the shop. What are you waiting for? Subscribers may get a little something extra.

Keep warm and safe out there- New England is in for a wild ride the weather people say.

I hand dye all of my wool in small batches in my Maine home kitchen. Each color is unique to my process. All hand dyes are different for different makers. The pots used, the water, the dyes and combination of dyes make for unique colors for each individual hand dyer.

"Wonderfully hand dyed colors. So pretty I almost don’t want to cut into them…but just sit and sigh at the softness of the wool and beautiful muted tones…. Fast Shipping and a very pleasant transaction!"
